tbh, tbqh, dear anon, my opinion is that the best album of all time is, in fact CRUSH by 2NE1. In this essay, I will explain;
Exquisite production work highlights what are perhaps the best examples of the vocal prowess and sonic beauty of the harmonies and leads of Park Bom, Lee Chaerin, Gong Minji and Sandara Park. Truly the pop queens of the 21st century, too good for this world, gave us such an amazing, and yet fleeting gift of their talents together before their company abruptly decided that, frankly, this is just too much talent, and the world is just not ready for it. I feel some jealousy was involved, and a definite lack of appreciation, but the truth remains; 2NE1 never received the love and recognition they deserve. I digress,
It is also The Best* because, unlike the other 2NE1 masterpiece album, 2010′s To Anyone, it features the songwriting of the Queen herself, Lee Chaerin, on “Crush”, “If I Were You”, “Scream”, “Baby I Miss You”, and her solo, “MTBD”, which is famous for absolutely obliterating clubs on a global scale.
When it comes down to it, is it the perfect songwriting, with eternal classics also including “Gotta Be You” and “Come Back Home” (which is de-facto the best song that ever bore Teddy’s name in the credit), or is it the soul-crushing vocal delivery of the group themselves? Either way, the combination makes an album that, honestly, destroys me completely, thru & thru, every time.
The best album of all time may seem like a mighty title, however, my ears have never enjoyed anything more powerful than what is contained on this album, so I really can’t argue it.
Do some self-love, and purchase the iconic Crush album here by the queens themselves, 2NE1.
